Welcome to the Upper Charles Trail – Portal. The Upper Charles Trail is a proposed 25-mile trail that will incorporate the communities of Milford, Ashland, Sherborn, Holliston, and Hopkinton, linking the towns via an abandoned CSX rail bed.
Milford was the first to open a complete 6.58 mile section and it extends from the town center north to the Hopkinton town line, east to the border of Holliston and south to the Milford Senior Center.

I am looking for information about the proposed routes in Ashland.
Has the committee made a decision on which proposed route would be used near Ashland High School? If not yet, when does the committee plan to make this decision and when would the bike path be constructed near AHS?
Is the Bay Circuit Trail in Ashland Approved for Biking? Also is there plans to complete the Sherborn portion of the Upper Charles Rail Trail to meet with the Bay Circuit Trail?
Hello Tom, Ashland Bike Club has a link to the Ashland Trail Committee and they should know the answer – what are the rules. The Bay Circuit Trail and the Upper Charles Trail are one in the same for a portion. Go to http://www.ashlandbikeclub.com/upper-charles-trail-committee to find a contact. It The site has a ‘contact us” form. For Sherborn, yes, the Upper Charles trail should connect to the Bay Circuit Trail, but I don’t think it’s completed yet. The only contact I know of is Sherborn Forest and Trail Association. http://www.sherbornforestandtrail.org/forum/4-interests/39-upper-charles-river-rail-trail
